When digital photography began to emerge around the turn of the century, it soon became clear that these new developments in photography and image editing offered a wide range of creative possibilities. Not only could the quality of photographs be enhanced, but it also became possible to add elements or even create an entirely digital image.

I draw on all these possibilities to create images, or rather, scenes. The starting point may be photographs, or parts of photographs. Often, a photographic element is placed within a digitally designed environment. Anything from an edited photograph to a completely imaginary image can serve as the basis for my digital artworks.
