Between Reality and Imagination

Through digital photomontage, the artist explores how image fragments, detached from their original function, can be rearranged into alternative realities. Viewers are invited to make connections, construct narratives, and reconsider the boundary between documentation and fiction.

The result is a series of scenes that appear familiar yet simultaneously evoke a sense of estrangement. Everyday objects assume new roles, relationships shift, and meaning emerges in the space between recognition and wonder.

These images encourage slow and attentive looking. What initially seems self-evident reveals itself to be a carefully constructed fiction in which chance, humor, absurdity, and symbolism converge. Each composition forms an open-ended narrative whose interpretation ultimately rests with the viewer.

Bert Uytley (1948) took education in art, photography and many other worldly affairs, however he sees himself as autodidact.
